Upgrading to a MOSFET Voltage Regulator is one of the single best reliability mods you can perform on a classic motorcycle. Unlike older "shunt" style regulators that get incredibly hot, MOSFET technology runs cooler and provides a much more stable...

Heat is the silent enemy of ignition reliability. While Tri-Spark electronic ignitions are engineered with sophisticated dwell control to prevent coils from overheating, many riders still utilise older technology—including traditional points or standard fixed-dwell systems that leave the coils "turned on" for excessively long...

At Tri-Spark, we’re always looking to support our customers with practical advice to ensure a smooth installation and reliable performance. One issue we occasionally see is a Classic Twin ignition returned with a damaged output transistor. In almost every case,...

At Tri-Spark, we’ve recently received a number of reports from customers experiencing premature burnouts of Lucas 14.5 amp three-phase stators. In several cases, the stator has failed more than once, and often with relatively low running hours. Normally, stator failure would...

This guide provides comprehensive instructions on how to: Verify ignition coil compatibility with your system. Conduct resistance tests on ignition coils. Perform live testing using a spark gap tester. Applies to the Following Coils: Tri-Spark Ignition Coil (Lucas Style) 6...

As more riders upgrade their classic motorbikes with modern electrical components, we often get asked whether our MOSFET voltage regulator rectifier is suitable for use with a lithium battery. It's a fair question—and one that doesn't have a simple yes-or-no...

We share a common interest in vintage mechanics and nostalgic aesthetics and love chatting with our customers about their latest restoration or classic racing project. One question that comes up often is "can I run the bike without a battery"....

A common issue with Classic Triple ignition installations!  The LED on the unit is blinking but there is no spark.  This usually means the coils are not wired up correctly.  The positive terminal on each coil needs to be connected...

We love our classic bikes, but as most of us know, they can be tricky to maintain—especially if you aren't a full-time mechanic or auto-electrician. Even the most seasoned owners can occasionally overlook a small detail that makes a big...
